The Post-Covid job market can only be described as ‘chaotic’. An employee will walk off the job due to the slightest perceived ‘disrespect’. This is often beyond the control of a line supervisor or crew leader.
Correctly configured, employee engagement must come from TOP MANAGEMENT, which is encapsulated as LEADERSHIP in the workplace. This is a very subtle and nuanced element of running any organization.
This webinar will discuss the operative factors surrounding the employee/employer relationship. There are some finite truisms associated with this logic, and we will discuss them at the helicopter and close up levels.
Interestingly, with one or two very specific and limited exceptions, this topic has no corresponding OSHA derived metric. There is no OSHA standard that directly requires employee engagement.
OSHA will however generally award ‘good faith’ credit to employers who demonstrate inclusive and engaging policies for ALL persons in the organization. First & foremost if the Employee Safety Committee.
Depending on your business classification and risk exposure, these can be fairly critical success elements. Understanding the forces at work in the group dynamic in your organization can make a big difference in meeting your overall objectives, nominally including incident avoidance, improved morale, sense of belonging and a few other vital metrics.
Why Should Attend:
Unless you enjoy going through the endless loop of ‘advertise – hire – fire’ having a good understanding of the true forces at work among your employee population can make everyone’s tenure in the organization more meaningful.
Ideally, there should be NO distinction between permanent, full time, part time, temps, volunteers, interns, etc.
All persons on the job should be treated equally and with respect. This is a basic recipe for long term fidelity, loyalty and brining out top performance from all persons on the Team. People are not ‘tools’. They are not functional elements like a widget or an appliance.
They are subject to certain basic traits and needs that YOU, as the employer, should at least recognize, if not actualize into your organization.
