Many people have spoken to me and said that they are confused about the Coronavirus. They have said that one day they hear something about the coronavirus pandemic; and the next day they hear something different. They are concerned about who to believe. All they want to know is, “Are they and their children safe, and what they can do to ensure their safety.” This webinar will address the misinformation and conspiracy theories as well as the management of a pandemic.

As a result of on-going misinformation and conspiracy theories and my deep concerns about what I was seeing and reading I published a book titled, Communicating Science and Managing the Coronavirus pandemic.” Once published I decided to use the content of the book to create the webinar that is described below. The webinar will provide insights into matters related to the Coronavirus and the managing the Coronavirus pandemic.

• Are all unplanned events created equal, and if not what is the criteria that distinguishes an upset from an emergency, a crisis, an epidemic and a pandemic?

• Who decides if there is a crisis, emergency, epidemic or a pandemic and why?
